
Asters contributed to the organisation and hosting of the III Forum on Family and Inheritance Law of the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA). Partner and Head of Tax Practice at Asters Kostyantyn Solyar joined the discussion and presented the tax aspects of estate planning. He explained the legal nature of trusts in Anglo-Saxon jurisdictions, provided examples of their practical use, and outlined the relevant tax nuances.
Asters' Associate Maryna Korniienko spoke at the session "International Aspects of Family Law: Current Challenges" and discussed the specifics of dividing marital property acquired abroad. She highlighted the key aspects of such cases: determining the applicable law and jurisdiction in disputes over the division of foreign property; procedures for the recognition and enforcement of court decisions between different states; and the regulation of the property regime of assets in accordance with foreign legislation.
