Asters Advises Volia Group on Acquisition of Odeko Group

Asters has acted as a legal advisor to Volia group of companies ("Volia"), a leading Ukrainian nation-wide cable TV and high speed Internet provider, on the purchase of Odeko group of companies ("Odeko"), one of the leading players on the Ukrainian pay-TV market, from PPF Group, one of the largest investment and finance groups in Central and Eastern Europe.

The legal support of the transaction included, in particular, advising on the competition law matters, transaction structuring, negotiating with the seller, supervising the pre-sale restructuring of Odeko, drafting relevant transaction documents, and coordinating the execution and closing procedures of the transaction.

The purchase of Odeko will allow Volia to invest in modernization of the provider's network, expand content of TV channel packages in quantity and quality, improve customer service system in the regions according to the highest international standards. Volia continues to work on the creation of a more open and transparent regional telecommunications market, which will stimulate competition, allow to completely legalize the sector and improve the legal environment of the industry, thus resulting in its further development.
