Asters scores for METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine in an alleged cartel lawsuit

Asters acted as a legal counsel to METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine against the Antimonopoly Committee in an alleged retail cartel case.

On 5 December 2017, the High Commercial Court of Ukraine rendered the final decision in the case that had been litigated for more than two years. The Court found that the antitrust charges against METRO lacked proper grounding and annulled the competition authority's 2015 decision to fine METRO in the amount of around 1 million USD and prohibit certain commercial practices of the company.

Asters' team working on the project included Partner Igor Svechkar, Senior Associates Sergiy Glushchenko, Anna Tkachova, and Oleksiy Ukolov.
