Asters managing partner Oleksiy Didkovskiy speaks at the conference on law firm management

Moscow, 25-26 November 2010, Asters' managing partner Oleksiy Didkovskiy participated in the 4th IBA International Conference on Law Firm Management. The conference included open events and special sessions for law firm partners, lawyers and professionals convened to examine main areas of law firm management, to discuss core ethical and professional principles of practice and to strengthen legal community interaction.

For this reason practitioners from leading international and CIS law firms met together for analyzing current market development challenges and trends, and sharing ideas on improvement and sustainment of competitiveness through establishment of intelligent strategic management and leadership processes, including development of efficient internal systems and decision-making structures, effective people management, as well as building viable client relationships.

In his presentation within the "2Х2=5 or How to improve profitability through effective administration" session Oleksiy Didkovskiy focused on main problem areas, specifics and challenges of administrative management and summarized business support trends – law firms need to follow – in order to successfully run a business. In a discussion on improvement of lawyers' efficiency Mr. Didkovskiy reported: "Providing long-term professional development and mentoring for the staff is one of the core ways to be effective in driving performance over time. The more we invest in the best performers, the more return on investment we get".

In addition to legal networking, the participants had a perfect opportunity to meet editors from Chambers Global and Chambers Europe and local directories and to debate on the recurring topic of rankings in legal profession directories.
