Markiyan Kliuchkovskyi included into the CAS list of arbitrators

Asters Partner Markiyan Kliuchkovskyi has been included into the list of arbitrators of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), an independent international body established to settle disputes related to sport.

The CAS has nearly 300 arbitrators from 87 countries, chosen for their excellent specialist knowledge of arbitration and sports law. Only 3 Ukrainian legal practitioners are currently on the list. Markiyan Kliuchkovskyi is the first partner of a Ukrainian law firm ever included into the CAS list of arbitrators.

Markiyan Kliuchkovskyi is a leading sports law expert in Ukraine. He has acted for numerous athletes, sports clubs and organizations, and has appeared before CAS. He was selected by the International Olympic Committee to act for Olympic athletes before the CAS Ad Hoc Division for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Previously, he was a member of the Ukraine Association of Football Dispute Resolution Chamber and held a position of Vice-President of the Ukrainian Premier League.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is an institution independent of any sports organization which provides for services in order to facilitate the settlement of sports-related disputes through arbitration or mediation by means of procedural rules adapted to the specific needs of the sports world. The CAS was created in 1984 and is placed under the administrative and financial authority of the International Council of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS). The CAS head office is in Lausanne, Switzerland.
