Igor Svechkar Wins the Best Competition Lawyer in Ukraine in National Legal Awards 2011

Igor Svechkar, Asters partner chairing the firm's competition practice, has been recognized as the best lawyer in competition by one of the most prestigious awards in Ukraine, Legal Awards 2011 reconfirming his preeminence in this area of practice.

The top law firms and legal professionals were announced at the official Awards Ceremony held in Hyatt Regency Kyiv on 1 June.

Igor Svechkar says: “I am very much excited to receive the award. Of course this would have been impossible without my team and I really hope that we get Best Competition Practice award next year.”

Asters managing partner Oleksiy Didkovskiy was shortlisted among the top 3 lawyers in telecommunication and senior partner Armen Khachaturyan was nominated as "the best lawyer in banking and finance". Asters was also among the runner-ups in corporate and competition law.

Legal Awards is traditionally organized by Yuridicheskaya Praktika publishing, praising the country's most successful lawyers, law firms and in-house legal departments in 23 nominations. This year the Legal Awards ceremony was held for the fifth time. The event welcomed more than 100 representatives of the legal business elite, providing a valuable opportunity to meet in an informal atmosphere.
