Asters successfully defended PrivatBank in a dispute brought by the bank's former owners challenging its nationalisation

Asters has successfully defended PrivatBank in a case brought by the bank's former owners, Mr Kolomoisky and Тriantal Investments, challenging its nationalisation. The case has been pending in court since 2019.

The claimants challenged the PrivatBank shares sale and purchase agreement concluded as part of the nationalisation procedure, which made PrivatBank's shares fully owned by the state, and sought repossession of the Bank's shares.

The court of the first instance closed the proceedings based on the provisions of the Law of Ukraine No. 590-IX "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Improving the Mechanisms for Regulating Banking Activities". This court's decision confirmed the impossibility of returning PrivatBank to its former owners.
