Asters successfully defended one of the leading Ukrainian banks in over UAH 39 million dispute

Asters successfully defended the interests of one of the leading Ukrainian banks in a dispute related to the recovery of funds from deposit and current account agreements worth over UAH 39 million.

Former clients of the bank sought to recover funds placed on bank deposits and current accounts, claiming that the bank had failed to fulfil its obligations to return funds and repay interest. The dispute has been considered by the courts since 2015.

The Asters litigation team was involved in the appeal stage and achieved a positive outcome, following the first instance court's decision in favor of the bank.

On 17 July 2024, the Supreme Court dismissed the plaintiff's appeal in cassation and upheld the decisions of the first instance court and the court of appeals, dismissing the claim in full.

Asters' litigation included Partner Gleb Bialyi, Counsel Sergiy Dusanovsky, Associates Dmytro Monastyrskyi and Oleksii Hlovatskyi.
