>On 11 December 2009 Oleksandr Padalka, Asters' Partner Oleksandr Padalka took part in the awards ceremony for the companies which were winners in the First All-Ukrainian Corporate Social Responsibility Business Case Contest organized by the Center for Corporate Social Responsibility Development. Asters acted as Legal Partner for the competition by providing legal support for the project on a pro bono basis under the leadership of Partner Oleksandr Padalka.
Mr. Padalka took the opportunity to congratulate the BDO Company for its victory in the Human Rights category for their social program "Labour migration and human trafficking: warning and prevention." As an encouragement prize Asters gave the BDO Company a pro bono gift certificate for legal advice within their social project for 2010.
Summarizing the work within the Contest, Oleksandr Padalka noted: "Corporate social responsibility in Ukraine is still developing in comparison to Western countries. Thus, the initiative and organization of this Contest is extremely important for popularizing this worldwide practice within the Ukrainian business community. It is worth mentioning that corporate social responsibility is an integral part of Asters' activity and its corporate strategy. In view of this, by assisting and participating in organizing this contest we are contributing to the development of this practice in Ukraine, and by initiating our further cooperation within the BDO's social project, we are implementing our social strategy in part".
