Asters' Lawyers Conducted a Training Seminar for Legal Students on Protection of Economic Competition

On 9 November 2013, a seminar of the 1st All-Ukrainian Legal School of Antitrust Law for students of legal departments of the Ukrainian higher educational establishments took place in Kyiv. It was organized by the Students League of the Ukrainian Bar Association with the partnership of Aster law firm. The lecturers were lawyers of Asters' competition and antitrust practice group, in particular the firm's partner Igor Svechkar, counsel Oleksandr Voznyuk, and associate Volodymyr Solohub. The event was attended by nearly 70 students from all over Ukraine.

During the lectures, Asters' experts provided a deep insight into the theoretical and practical aspects of defining product market and dominant position of business entities, anticompetitive concerted actions, and business concentration. The seminar participants also discussed possible ways of implementing antitrust compliance policies at enterprises through introduction of special programs or codes of conduct, etc.

The 1st All-Ukrainian Legal School is an annual event intended to form new legal elite and improve the professional skills of students. It is a platform for practicing lawyers, legal students, and experts of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine and the ICC Ukraine created to bring new knowledge on the present issues of the competition policy in Ukraine and abroad and discover possible ways to solve them.
