Asters is pleased to announce that it has joined the Association of Alternative Fuel and Energy Market Participants (APEU). APEU is the leading forum of alternative energy companies and providers of associated services in Ukraine. Established in 2009, the Association brings together all leading participants of the rapidly-growing Ukrainian alternative energy market and is the leading voice of the industry.
"Our decision to join APEU highlights our ambitious plans to further develop and expand Asters' alternative energy specialisation. We already have extensive experience in this field, but this new membership will certainly enhance our ability to provide integrated, cost effective, high quality service to our energy clients," said Armen Khachaturyan, senior partner and head of energy practice at Asters.
The firm has recently advised on a number of major deals in the alternative energy sector. For example, earlier this year Asters advised International Finance Corporation on a USD 15 million loan facility to Credit Europe Bank, to be used for funding of the sustainable energy projects by Ukrainian small and medium-sized businesses. The firm also acted as legal counsel to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on a pioneering loan to finance construction of a 12.5 megawatt wind power plant in Lviv region.
