Asters is the first Ukrainian law firm that obtained Climate Ambition Accelerator Certificate

Asters became the first Ukrainian law firm and one of 11 companies that took part in educational program Climate Ambition Accelerator led by the United Nations Global Compact.

Asters Counsel and Head of Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Practice Anzhelika Livitska took part in the educational program. During 6 months of the program, she strengthened her expertise related to emission reduction, accounting of greenhouse gas emissions, implementation of GHG protocol, joining the SBTi and Net-Zero initiatives. Deeper expertise will help to support clients' projects related to emissions reduction, transition to renewable energy sources, decarbonization etc.

The main program's objective is to equip companies with the knowledge and skills they need to accelerate progress towards setting science-based emissions reduction targets aligned with the 1.5℃ pathway, setting them on a path towards net- zero emissions by 2050. It includes three modules during which the participants receive basic knowledge in climate change, learn how to promote their ideas inside organizations and apply difference strategies to reduce emissions.

Asters is the largest law firm in Ukraine with offices in Kyiv, Washington D.C., Brussels and London. In 2020-2021, the firm was recognised as one of the most socially responsible law firms in Ukraine according to the annual PLS Top Teams research held by Legal Practice weekly. In May 2022 the firm joined the United Nations Global Compact Network Ukraine.
