Asters Advises in a Global Signaling Technology Project

Asters has acted as a legal counsel to BT Signaling B.V. (Amsterdam, the Netherlands), a subsidiary of Bombardier Inc. (Montreal, Quebec, Canada), a global conglomerate and manufacturer of innovative transportation solutions, on the issues of Ukrainian competition law, including obtaining clearance of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine for the acquisition of control through acquisition of 50% minus two voting share of the Russia's largest signaling equipment producer United Electrical Engineering Plants, known as Elteza (Moscow, the Russian Federation). As a result of the deal, BT Signaling B.V. will share the control over Elteza with Elteza's parent company, Russian Railways, OJSC (Moscow, the Russian Federation), which will remain the majority stakeholder. Being indirectly acquired by Bombardier, Elteza will strengthen its leading positions in producing of signaling equipment and automatic and remote control systems in Russia, as well as the CIS and Baltic states.

The antitrust filing with the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine was handled by Tetyana Buchko, associate at Asters.
