Asters Advises a Leading European Provider of Parcel Services on Acquisition Deal in Ukraine

Asters advised Armadillo Holding GmbH, a leading European provider of parcel services under the "DPD" trade mark and a member of the GeoPost Group, on the issues of Ukrainian merger control law, including obtaining clearance from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMC) for merger with UVK, the largest Ukrainian cargo courier company and a member of the Fozzy group, through the acquisition of 51% of shares in CJSC DPD Ukraine, a recently established JV to carry out parcel services in Ukraine. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

DPD is the international network and world-class brand of GeoPost group, a 100% subsidiary of La Poste Group (France) and majority shareholder of DPD (Germany).

The filing with the AMC was handled by associate Sergiy Burnus, working under supervision of the firm’s senior partner Armen Khachaturyan. The deal was structured and negotiated extensively since early last year and required a great deal of endurance and devotion from legal and business teams.
