Asters acted as Ukrainian law counsel to the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) in connection with a 10-year loan portfolio guaranty agreement for a total of USD 28 million to support the financing of small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) co-sponsored the transaction with DFC. The new guaranty will enable ProCredit Bank to disburse loans of up to USD 56 million in total with a credit risk coverage of up to 80%.
Asters advised on all aspects of Ukrainian law related to the developing and signing the guaranty agreement. The team working on the project included Partner Oleksiy Demyanenko, Counsel Oleksandr Khomenko and Senior Associate Yuliia Savchenko. Mayer Brown LLP acted as US law counsel to the project.
