ArtAsters hosts Igor Gaidai's photo artworks

On 7 November 2018 Asters, jointly with the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), held a reception in its ArtAsters project presenting the new exhibition of photographic works by Igor Gaidai, one of the most recognizable Ukrainian photographers.

In his introductory comments at the opening ceremony Asters' Senior Partner Armen Khachaturyan pointed out: "Igor Gaidai is a brand name for Ukrainian photography. Each his project over last two decades was a benchmark showing Ukraine to the world with exquisite artistic quality. His undisputed professional skills are uniquely combined with a thoughtful look at the world with all of its variety and complexity but still wonderful. Igor's name and his works fit perfectly well into ArtAsters concept of showing best Ukrainian art to business community. We are happy that so many people will see this exhibition in our office."  

Morgan Williams, USUBC's President, indicated that "ArtAsters has, for almost 10 years, been presenting the masterpieces of Ukrainian culture to business community and its audience is now truly global. Igor Gaidai's portraits modern Ukraine that has finally emerged from the shadows of its past. It is our great pleasure to support an exhibition of one of the most significant cultural commentators of our time".

The event was traditionally held in Asters' office with near a hundred guests attending, including business managers, diplomats, governmental officers and public figures. Following the largest merger between two leading Ukrainian law firms the new Asters logo was presented within the reception.

Igor Gaidai, photographer, founder and co-owner of the Gaidai Studio company and the Camera gallery. Author of three photobooks: Ukrainians. The Beginning of the Third Millennium, 9 Months + 3 Days, and RAZOM.UA. In 1985, he graduated from the Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv Theater Institute (specializing in cinematography). Igor's graduation work Dragon, created in cooperation with the Greek director Antonis Papadopoulos, received an award at the Molodist Filmfest and was subsequently shown at various international film festivals. Mr. Gaidai was a part of the group that founded the Photoartists Union of Ukraine.

ArtAsters is a non-profit project of Asters aimed at popularization of Ukrainian art. Launched in 2009, the project is designed to benefit Ukrainian artists and create additional opportunities for them to display their works in a gallery-like office space for viewing by Asters' lawyers, clients, and guests.

The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) is a private, non-profit trade association representing the interests of the U.S. businesses active in Ukraine and Ukraine businesses active or somehow connected to the U.S. markets. USUBC is headquartered in Washington, DC. With over 200 members, USUBC is the largest business association for Ukraine which is not based in Ukraine. USUBC has been promoting Ukraine as a place to do business since 1995.
