On 22 May 2025, the first public forum ‘Exporting Security – Ukrainian Technological Weapons in the World’ was held in Kyiv.
The event, organised by Tech Force in UA, brought together 25 speakers and over 500 participants, including military officers, experts, civil society representatives, arms manufactures, diplomats from partner countries, exporters, to discuss current issues in the industry. The agenda included the development of the defence industry in Ukraine, the necessity to find a balance between defence needs and opening up export opportunities for manufacturers of technological weapons.
Asters' Partner Yuna Potomkina spoke at the session ‘Export analytics: investment, taxation and legal issues’. Her speech was focused on two key issues:
Yuna pointed out that the export control mechanism should be viewed from two angles — the legal and the practical. Although there is no legal ban on exports, they are de facto suspended, which has a direct impact on the production capacity of enterprises. She also pointed out the importance of reacting quickly, in particular by adopting experimental decisions of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers to support the launch of pilot projects in this area.
