Olesia Kryvetska spoke at 51st CCIL Annual Conference on international law

Olesia Kryvetska, Asters' Counsel, Chairwoman at UBA's International Trade Law Committee and Senior Research and Teaching Fellow at University of Zurich, spoke at 51^st Annual Conference of the Canadian Counsel on International Law (CCIL). The event took place on October 27-28 in Ottawa (Canada) and was held under the topic "Solidarity and Enlightened Self-Interest in International Law: Relic or Aspiration?".

The conference gathered over 100 speakers from the reputable higher education institutions, government service and law firms to discuss the most topical issues related to international law with a special focus on how Russia-Ukraine war affects the international legal order. 

During the presentation devoted to international economic aspects of Russia's war against Ukraine, Olesia Kryvetska addressed the developments of trade relations between the countries before and after 2014, when Russia annexed the Crimea and invaded Donbas areas. She also outlined the implications of Russia's full-scale military invasion on Ukraine's trade in goods (food, energy, metallurgy, chemicals etc.). She paid a special attention to the key sectors that will help Ukraine's economy to recover and reintegrate, as well as possible legal measures to be borne in mind.
