Asters Partners spoke at the 20th Oleh Makarov Forum "Development of the Legal Services Market"

On 30 January 2026, the 20th Oleh Makarov Forum "Development of the Legal Services Market", organised by the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA), took place in Kyiv. The event traditionally brought together representatives of leading law firms to discuss current trends and challenges shaping the legal profession.

Asters Senior Partner Armen Khachaturyan moderated a panel discussion on new opportunities in the Ukrainian legal market. The participants explored key market trends, the use of artificial intelligence to optimise law firm operations, practical aspects of integrating lobbying into legal practice, as well as issues related to rebranding a law firm based on the changes that took place in the legal market in 2025.

Summarising the discussion, Armen Khachaturyan noted: "The legal market has not only survived the war but has also adapted to new realities. We see the emergence of new players and practices, a shift in the lawyer–client relationship and the active adoption of AI as a tool to enhance efficiency."

Asters Managing Partner Oleksiy Didkovskiy joined a panel session dedicated to partnership development and generational transition within the legal industry. He shared insights on Asters’ transformation from a "family-style" model to an open partnership, highlighting the challenges of scaling, managing mergers, and evolving partner roles. "Strengthening partnerships is impossible without open communication, mutual engagement, and a genuine willingness among partners to share responsibility and participate in decision-making,” – he emphasised.
