Anna Tkachova spoke at the summit devoted to the Anniversary of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Asters Counsel Anna Tkachova joined two roundtable discussions at the summit devoted to the 75th Anniversary of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. During these roundtable discussions, Anna shared her ideas on the role of sanctions in moderating Russia's behaviour, as well as possible legal ways to force Russia to pay for the damages caused by the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The event, organised by the American Society of International Law together with the Ukrainian Association of International Law, took place on 7-10 December 2023 in Lviv. It gathered over 75 international legal experts and 75 Ukrainian counterparts to reaffirm commitments to fundamental principles of international law, respond to the call for partnership within the international law community, and reflect on the role of international law at this crucial historic inflection point.

The agenda and more information about the event are available via the link.
