Asters Wins the Ukraine & CIS Firm of the Year Award by The Lawyer Magazine

Asters is the inaugural winner of the 2014 Law Firm of the Year: Ukraine and the CIS award by The Lawyer, a highly reputable British weekly covering the UK and international legal markets. The award was presented at the black-tie ceremony on 20 February 2014 in London. Asters is the first Ukrainian recipient of the award in the new category designed to promote the strength of the CIS market outside of Russia. Asters got much attention at the award ceremony in London as it was also shortlisted in the crown category of the European Law Firm of the Year 2014 while its Managing Partner Oleksiy Didkovskiy was a nominee for a title of the European Managing Partner of the Year.

Asters' Managing Partner Oleksiy Didkovskiy comments: "It is truly a high honor to receive The Lawyer's award as an evidence of Asters' excellent professional skills and teamwork tested by time and challenges. It came at the very decisive point of Ukraine's history and imposes on us more-than-ever responsibility to make Ukraine a better place with all of our experience and devotion".

This year competition over The Lawyer's awards was particularly fierce with over 140 candidacies reviewed across all categories. The nominee firms were handpicked by expert judges based on the best legal performances in the region over the past 12 months, including nominees' ability to win new clients, engage in innovative transactions or cases, and talent to develop other strategic achievements. A panel of judges included managing partners at private practice firms and in-house counsels at multinational companies, such as Caterpillar, HBO Europe, VimpelCom, Unisys, Arnold & Porter, and others.
