Asters' Senior Partner Armen Khachaturyan spoke on the specifics of legal structuring of various finance transactions at the conference Corporate Legal Department: How to Increase an Effectiveness of the Work? held in Kyiv on 25-26 March 2010 by the Financial Analysts' Service. The conference was an excellent opportunity for bringing together a large number of in-house lawyers and practitioners from independent law firms to discuss recent legal developments, market trends and how they can better understand each other's professional needs. Topics discussed at the conference included the role of corporate counsel in the period of organizational change, management of the law department, minimization of legal risks, as well as specific issues related to outsourcing, crisis management, insolvency and restructuring, employment, and taxation.
In his presentation Armen Khachaturyan provided insights to lawyers' role in the complex finance transaction, such as issuance of Eurobonds, syndicated loans, project finance, IPO, and securitization of assets that Ukrainian businesses may use when they look for the new capital to overhaul their assets and expand operations structurally and geographically. The presentation was well received by the audience.
