Asters Receives High Rankings from IFLR1000 2014

The 2014 edition of International Financial Law Review 1000 (IFLR1000) highly ranked Asters' Banking & Finance and M&A practices, thus reconfirming the firm's high positions over recent years. The ranking also selected Asters' managing partner Oleksiy Didkovskiy, senior partner Armen Khachaturyan and partner Iryna Pokanay as ones of the leading lawyers in Ukraine.

IFLR1000 described Asters as "a well-respected firm which provides good quality work and its team as truly excellent and very good value". The publication also stressed Banking & Finance practice as "the firm's core strength and its head Armen Khachaturyan as reputable lawyer with a very strong track record". According to the survey, "in banking the firm has a broad mix of experience, with good relationships with international and local lenders and domestic companies." Also, Asters has got recommendations for its experience in matters related to standard capital markets, straight debt and equity.

The publication praises Mr. Khachaturyan for securing some large mandates, leading on several large financings and handling the Ukrainian law on some big debt capital markets issues. The survey mentions one of the firm's key banking deals – securing a USD 255 million syndicated loan facility to Creative Group, one of the largest agricultural groups in Ukraine. Among other deals of Banking & Finance practice, IFLR1000 names Armen Khachaturyan and Oleksiy Didkovskiy providing local legal advice on VimpelCom's USD 2 billion Eurobond issue in February 2013; the State Road Agency's USD 1.75 billion offering, with Mr. Khachaturyan as the sole partner in charge. The ranking estimates the bond market has being busy for the firm in the last 18 months and notes that the Firm advised on two multibillion dollar transactions.
