Asters Partner Speaks at UBA Corporate Law Committee Meeting in Yaremche

On 10 February 2012, Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) held a meeting of its Corporate Law Committee. For the first time, UBA members convened in Yaremche of Ivano-Frankivs'k region to discuss burning issues of Ukrainian corporate law. Vadym Samoilenko, a partner with Asters and member of the UBA Board, attended the event as a member of the organizing committee and speaker. Mr. Samoilenko delivered a presentation covering practical aspects of the pre-emptive right to acquire equity interest in a Ukrainian limited liability company. The meeting was hosted by Ivano-Frankivs'k Branch of UBA.

The meeting gathered corporate law practitioners and representatives of state agencies for professional discussion of joint-stock companies regulation, including bringing their activities in compliance with the Law of Ukraine "On Joint Stock Companies" and legislative novelties being contemplated by the National Commission on Securities and Stock Market (NCSSM) in the area, as well as legislative framework and practices of limited liability companies, including intricacies of the pre-emptive right. Leading specialists from Ukrainian law firms and NCSSM shared their experience with the audience.
