Asters Partner Participated in Web Conference on Unfair Competition

On 13 May 2009 the LIGA:ZAKON portal featured a web conference on “Unfair Competition: legal countermeasures”, involving Igor Svechkar, Asters Partner and Head of the Antitrust and Competition Practice Group.

During the web conference, in which Igor Svechkar appeared as an expert, legislative protection against unfair competition was examined. The web conference focused on the countermeasures against unfair competition provided by law.

In all, the subject matter sparked interest and gripped the audience. The questions posed by visitors to the portal were of a general nature and had to do with explaining which actions, pursuant to legislation, constitute unfair competition and interpreting recent modifications to the Law of Ukraine “On Protection against Unfair Competition”. Questions of a practical nature generally pertained to seeking recourse with the responsible authority in the event that one’s business has suffered as a result of the unfair acts of competitors, аs well as the prospects and realities of administrative and judicial protection against unfair competition.
