Asters is Legal Counsel to Pharmaceutical Giant GlaxoSmithKline plc with Respect to the Creation of a New World-Leading Specialist Dermatology Business

Asters provided legal advice to the British company GlaxoSmithKline plc (United Kingdom), a world famous manufacturer of pharmaceuticals, on Ukrainian merger control law issues, including obtaining merger clearance from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMC) in connection with the indirect acquisition of control over Stiefel (USA), a leading manufacturer of dermatological pharmaceuticals.

The group of companies controlled by GlaxoSmithKline plc (GSK) is a leading research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare company, which is active worldwide in the discovery, development, manufacture and sale of pharmaceuticals and consumer health related products. Stiefel is a company with a particular focus on dermatological pharmaceuticals and skin care products.

The top-management of GSK is convinced that the transaction will diversify its product spectrum and will create a new world-leading specialist dermatology business.
