Asters' partner Iryna Pokanay attended the International Arbitration Charity Ball

London, 9 September 2010, the International Arbitration Charity Ball in aid of Save the Children was attended by Asters' partner Iryna Pokanay. Arbitrators, partners of law firms, journalists and other guests participated in this very special inaugural event held in the Royal Courts of Justice, in supporting a cause for needy children.

The International Arbitration Charity Ball was held to unite over 600 people from all over the world with a common goal of raising money for charity. As a part of the ball Adrian Lovett, a campaign director at Save the Children gave a presentation about charity projects in Mozambique and shared his impression of enthusiasm of the arbitration community which raised almost £200,000 for vulnerable children.

Being a part of international arbitration community Asters was honored to participate in the first event of its kind and share its experiences and expertise both in arbitration and charity projects with colleagues, friends and peers. Iryna Pokanay, Asters' partner, shares her impressions of the event: "The International Arbitration Charity Ball proved to be a real success in terms of fulfilling its main goal of raising money for the needy children. It felt good to be part of this special event and see so many professionals united by one goal. At the same time, it was a good networking opportunity and a knowledge-sharing event where we met our friends – partners from the Linklaters, Lawrence Graham, Chaffetz Lindsey, Herbert Smith, Skadden and other esteemed law firms."

Charity is an important part of Asters' CSR activity. By supporting children's houses such as Gorodnya Children's Home and Bila Cerkva Children's Home, and contributing to other charity projects the firm is playing a small part in making world better.
