Asters acted as a legal counsel to Swedbank AB in connection with the merger of its Ukrainian subsidiary JSC Swedbank Invest to JSC Swedbank.

The decision to merge Swedbank Invest and Swedbank was made on 15 June 2009 at the meeting of their shareholders. The National Bank of Ukraine approved the transaction in July 2009. On 22 June 2010 Swedbank Invest ceased its activity, and this fact was recorded in the State Register of Legal Entities and Private Entrepreneurs of Ukraine.

99.99% of the shares of JSC Swedbank are owned by Swedbank AB, one of the leading banks in Northern Europe and the Baltic countries. Founded in 1820, Swedbank now involves 389 branches in Sweden, 235 branches in the Baltic countries and 120 branches in Ukraine.
