The 2009 Top 50 Law Firms in Ukraine annual survey ranked Asters among the top three leaders of the Ukrainian legal market.

Furthermore, the Schering-Plough / Merck & Co., Inc transaction handled by Asters ranked 1st among the 25 Largest Public Antitrust Transactions, with Asters also leading by the overall number of transactions, viz. 12 out of the 25 listed.

The firm is also recognized as the leader in the largest public and arbitration cases category, having advised on a number of litigations with respect to the corporate dispute between the Norwegian company Telenor and Russia's Alfa Group around Kyivstar telecommunications company in the amount of $23.8 bn.

The aim of the Top 50 Law Firms in Ukraine survey program annually held by the Yuridicheskaya Praktika newspaper since 1997 is to ascertain the leading Ukrainian law firms according to a number of criteria: profit, number of lawyers, efficiency, reputation, and transactions (litigations) they handled.
